our story

In the heart of downtown Kitchener, St. Mary’s Church started a unique initiative to ensure no one in our community goes without a meal. This is the beginning of the Kitchener Tiny Home Takeout Mission: a tiny home in front of the church serving fresh, nutritious meals to all.
To bring this mission to life, St. Mary’s Church invested in a full commercial kitchen, partnered with Chef Amy Cyr, and installed a tiny yet powerful food hub outside the church. This hub serves meals from Tuesday to Saturday, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. We proudly offer Calzones and Daily Bites, prepared fresh and served with care through our takeout window. Ultimately, this is more than food — it’s a place where everyone can share a meal and feel a sense of belonging. Every meal is a step forward in our mission: food shared strengthens community.
Of course, none of this would be possible without our amazing volunteers. Over 240 volunteers support everything from meal prep to customer service, forming the backbone of the Tiny Home Takeout.
Furthermore, our commitment extends beyond food. We also run The Bell Tower, a resource center providing clothing, footwear, toiletries, and other essentials to those in need.
